No, and as i said in my first post here it's a stupid and unfair system.
But really the impact should be neligible. Every inland applicant should have an OWP they can continue working on until they get full SIN.
Perhaps the norm is for people to require full PR card before getting SIN, but they just make an exception for outland applicants so they can work quicker. And since the SIN office can easily tell the different between an outland and inland PR, there must be some key difference on the COPR or other documentation that causes one to be acceptable, and the other not.
The point is, if someone needs a SIN for whatever reason, whats the point of denying them after they have COPR?
If the argument is "well all inland applicants already have SINs (which they don't) then, again, it does no harm to allow SINs with a COPR, no inland applicant - not one - would apply (since they all have SINs already apparently).
yes we do. I have one. As a matter of fact, my landing office also provided me with a service canada worker to get my permanent sin as soon as I signed my COPR and finished chatting with her.
@Mrs.Canuk: I think all landing offices are different and I am not sure what would happen if you tried a full service canada office rather than one of their convenience offices to get his SIN situated.
