Hello
I am a PR card holder
My PR card will expire on Oct 2016
I am living out side Canada for last 3 years with my Canadian spouse
Just wanted to know how many days before i have to go back to Canada to renew my PR card
Thank you
You don't have to renew it. Living with a Canadian spouse, your PR is protected. If you let your PR card expire, you can still return to Canada by applying for a PR travel document.
Your PR status doesn't expire once your card does as long as you continue to meet the requirements. You just not longer have physical proof of the status
ok i was worried coz they said some place to renew 6 months before expire date

You may not try to renew earlier than 6 months before expiry date because your application will be refused but you don't have to renew before it expires. You can let it expire and renew years later as long as you still meet the residency obligation.
