My wife's PR card arrived today. The timeline is as below:

1. We received your application for a permanent resident card on February 11, 2021.
2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on April 1, 2021.
3. We started processing your application on April 1, 2021.
4. Your Permanent Resident card was sent by mail on May 7, 2021.

The card is received on May 13, 2021

I got news today from IRCC: my PR card renewal "has been selected for pick-up, rest assured that you will be informed of the date, time, location for pick-up, and of the type of documents you will be asked to bring with you in due time."

Does anyone had to pick-up the card in one of IRCC offices and want to share your experience?

This is my timeline:
Permanent Resident Card
1. We received your application for a permanent resident card on December 24, 2020
2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on February 12, 2021
3. We started processing your application on February 12, 2021
4. Decision Made on March 17, 2021

yes I have a similar issue. I mailed my parents' applications (no tracking) on March 3rd and haven't receievd an AoR yet.

Why some get selected to pick up their card?

3. We started processing your application on April 22, 2021.
4. Your Permanent Resident card was sent by mail on April 26, 2021.

Received all 3 cards on 30th April

Were you urgent applicant? Why yours was mailed just three days after they start processing, and for some its taking more than a month?

Why some get selected to pick up their card?

Quoting IRCC email:
"Once the card issued, it is sometimes randomly selected in order for you to pick it up in person at an IRCC office. This random selection is done to allow IRCC to gather information in our continuous effort to improve the processing of PR card applications."

It was not urgent .

How much time do they take for AOR
My location is Edmonton

Hi! Did you recieve an AOR by any chance? I sent mine around the same time as you, no AOR yet either.
