Here's the scenario for a friend:
- Applied for PR under CEC last July, received AOR in August, and the application was rejected in May.
- Current status in Canada is visitor, which expired, but applied for an extension before expiry (giving him the implied status)
I'm quite positive he can re-apply with his implied status. But the application form asks for an expiry date of the current status you have; since he's still waiting to hear back anything on his visitor visa extension, what date should he fill that date as? or simply leave it blank and attach a letter saying he's on implied status at the time of filing the application? He needs to leave the country for a family emergency, hence thinking of applying before hearing a decision on the extension.
Does it affect anything if he applies and leaves the country, before hearing back the result on his visitor visa extension? Since these are 2 different applications, I'm assuming his PR application would be "under process" regardless of the decision on his visitor visa extension.
