I just got off the phone with an IRCC agent at 7:20am this morning to inquire about the update that was made on my application two days ago. After verifying my information, I was told that a decision was made on my application two days ago. It was approved. I'm so happy. They said that my application has been transferred to Ottawa, so I guess I'll just have to wait for the PPR email from Ottawa.
Thanks alot. In response to your comment, I think that's the new trend. Not in every case but I think once an application exceeds 5 months, it will most like stretch to 8 months, especially if it's transferred to certain VOs like Calgary.
Read through all the message on this forum. The stars don't seem to be aligned properly for me! Just got off a call with cic agent, they told me my file is moved to
I wish that's the case but my application was stuck at Criminality ( which was recommended pass in R10). No indication that someone looked at the file after R10, so the wait isn't for SS, it's just that no one opened it yet...
Not sure.. but from what i ve read, there are 2 types of security. First one is usual one. And second is the long one for which people get picked up randomly by cic...

If your file gets transferred to Calgary IRCC, it doesn't necessarily mean SS. Normal security check can take anywhere from 3-6 months to be honest. Based on my gcms notes, mine took just under 6 months
that they choose some random application to go through security screening. Doesnt necessarily mean that there is something wrong with your application. I am not sure how true it is.
