PPR delays due to covid-19

I believe tourists and outland PRs (with no family members in Canada) are now restricted from entering Canada. That’s harsh. Very sad.

Can PR s with family connections in Canada are able to enter Canada.

I am December 2019 AOR., FSW-O. Country of residence : India. Passed Meds and gave Biometrics in Jan 2020

PPR Mail- 12th September, 2020
Passport dropped at DHL enroute Accra- 25th of September, 2020 ( Wrote several mails to find out where to submit since my country VFS does not accept passport yet. Also had to renew.

29th of September, 2020- Passport arrived VFS Accra and a mail was sent the same day that the documents have been forwarded to IRCC

5th of October, 2020- Received a call from IRCC asking whether we can travel before 31st of March, 2021. I said yes, but subject to the travel restrictions and the lady said sure.

8th of October, 2020- Mail from VFS stating that the decision envelope has been couried via courier partner (DHL). Profile was updated same day with counterfoil generated. (Passport spent 10 days in Accra)

14th of October, 2020- DHL delivers the parcel

My application was far from perfect. I did not submit POF by error till i received GCMS note in February and found out the file was parked. As at April, file was still under "review required"

Everyone will smile soon

i just dont understand the logic here...

IRCC still issues 4k+ invitations fortnightly, but in the meantime they dont want to finalise the applications submitted last year and there is no sign they will be finalising it.

why they are creating so much backlogs for themselves??

Congratulations!!! What is your visa office and when was your Aor?

Is this a new announcement ? Because tourists and Outland PRs are restricted since March 18th , only those who had COPRs before March 18 th made it to Canada, Canada registered the biggest influx of immigrants entering Canada since I don't now how many time, more than 11k landed in April alone.

Tourists and Outland Economic category PR are NOT excepted from travel unless your app is approved (in written) before March 18.

My point is we are threated the same level as tourists...

Did you see any posts indicating this? I haven't seen any. I'm currently in US and my AOR is March 17th. From my GCMS notes my application was approved more than a month ago but haven't received PPR yet.

US residents are excepted from travel restrictions regardless of nationality. You are just facing administrative delay to finalize your application.

Yes but if it is extended family and your app is approved after March 18, you need to get Travel Authorization letter from IRCC.

While I wonder about this too, these invitations at least confirm the fact that immigrants are needed considering the fact that so many people are concerned about how the pandemic is going to impact things going forward. More than 17k invites have been issued in the last four FSW draws.

Now I really hope the mandate letter indicates how things are going to move going forward.

When will the mandate letter come out?

Actually last year, the mandate letter came out around 8-9 days after the throne speech. But this time it seems to be delayed. Additionally, the immigration levels plan for 2021-2023 should hopefully be announced by October 30th 2020.

Hi, I have seen your previous post where you mentioned that your Eligibility and Security: Not Started, Could you plz confirm whether you have raised new GCMS and when did you receive this response that your application is approved.

And when you say application is approved, does that mean the final decision has been made with the Application, only waiting for COPR?? Please confirm and Thanks in advance.
