My wife uses two postal codes for the same address. For example, when I send her gifts using DHL, they prefer one over the other or else the package gets SERIOUSLY misdirected. The post office prefers the other one. I have 99% of the time sent her things via postal mail. For her address information on the forms, which postal code should I use? Her national identity card (IFE) lists the postal code that is preferred by DHL, not the one I use when I send her things via postal mail. Also, she has two addresses (for the same house). It's strange, and I don't know which ones I should use on the forms. If CIC see a different postal code and address on the forms from the address and postal code I use on her postal packages, that may raise a red flag. Would I need an affidavit?
As long as you explain what it is, it should be fine. Just choose one address for the application, and any proof that is with a different address then add a note explaining it.

That is a bit of a dilemma. The postal system in Mexico is deregulated. This means that there can be multiple carriers of the mail unlike Canada where only Canada Post can deliver mail. Each company would then have is own operating system to deal with logistics and that is why you end up with multiple addresses/postal codes at the same address. DHL did not build their system off Correos. Most likely because the model Mexico was using was ineffiecient and out of date and would not work as a link to DHL's international system.
The correct address/postal code should be the one issued by the city or federal government of Mexico. Thats the one I would use for my CIC application and passports and such. I would use the DHL one when sending or receiving anything through DHL and then the other one when using Correos.
Does any of this make sense?
Really is a very good example of why you don't deregulate government services.
On the bright side the you will at least be better prepared than the rest of us when the postal system here is deregulated and privatized. Canada Post has already begun adopting the USPS postal model. A model that loses $25 million dollars a month. This replaces our own model that made hundreds of millions of dollars in profit over the last 17 years.
