[/glow]Hi ,
I am Sehaj pal singh , I have done 2 years hospitality program from windsor.
I applied for my post graduation work permit on the 17th of june and have received conformation from call center agents that CIC received my application on the 17 june , And till today I have not heard a word from the people at CIC. I talk to the call center agents almost everyday and all they tell me is "It's in Verification process" . I have been waiting for 2 months with NO answers what so ever. Without any source of income , I have been borrowing more money from my bank waiting for my work permit. CIC tells me that officer is verifying something so it may take 3 more months. is this thing happened with someone else??
My entire life has been put on hold because of this , It's highly disappointing. I don't understand why they wont issue the permit or tell me what is going on, Please Help. All my friends who applied with me have got there work permit 1 month before.
Do you (did you) have an off campus work permit?
ya.. i have my off-campus work permit.. i know i can work on that but some lady in CIC call centre told me i cannot work even if my off-campus is valid.. i dont know why she said that or may be she doesnt know that i can work
Did you surrender your off campus work permit? I think it is mandatory to do that since you are not studying at the institution anymore. Check this link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/work-offcampus-surrender.asp
Senior members can comment on this more thoroughly.
Your off-campus work permit still allows you to work until you get your post-grad permit and you say you know this so why are you not working?
Because you applied for the post-grad permit in time, you are under implied status until you get it.
But,Leon doesn't one has to surrender his/her off campus work permit as well?

No, your link does not apply for a person who graduates and is eligible for a post grad permit and applies for one.
You can see this here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/institutions/guide-dir.asp#part3
3. Conditions of the work permit
A study permit is usually issued for the duration of study, plus 90 days. The work permit will follow the same rule: duration of study, plus 90 days.
Transition to post-graduation employment: Students who have completed all degree, diploma or certificate requirements and who are within the 90-day period allowed for transition to post-graduation employment will still be considered eligible to work off-campus, provided they are in possession of a valid study permit and a valid off-campus work permit.
Implied status: Students who have completed their studies and have submitted an application for a Post- Graduation Work Permit, when they are in possession of a valid study permit and a valid Off-Campus Work Permit, may continue to work off-campus until a decision on their application has been made.
Short term study or work permit: Some students have short-term (normally valid for no more than a year) study or work permits that must be renewed each year. In order to participate in the program, these students would need to apply for a renewal of the work permit each time.

I agree with Leon.
I also do not understand why you're not working.
