Hi orange girl ;D,
how much work permit (PGWP) did you get?? Also if you could provide me a list of documents required for application of 3 year PGWP , it will be great !!
Hi,
My PGWP application is still in process, I applied online on May 26. Hopefully I will get some good news next week. I attached my graduation letter, passport, digital photo and a completed application form. Hoping that was enough. I'll update you here as soon as I receive my PGWP.

please reply when u get your PGWP. I am new to canada and i wish to know how is the process... also can u state which college have u studied ?? And where can we do PGWP application ? Online or in person ?? If in person then where ????
Thanks in advance
Hi, here is an update of my application status. My PGWP application was approved on June 6 and is valid till June 6, 2017. I got a three year work permit! Can't wait to receive it in mail.
P.S.: I studied at Algonquin College, I uploaded a letter of graduation as proof of completion of my program.
It was a two-year program, 4 semesters: fall 2012, winter 2013, summer break then fall 2013 and winter 2014. My graduation letter didn't say when my program started or ended, it only said that I met all the requirements for the 2-year full-time diploma program. Hope this helps.
for sure you will get 3 years open work permit trust me.
to apply open workpermit you need a letter of completion of your studys from respective college.
so if on that letter college mentioned your course is 2 year you will get 3 years
or if they state 1.5 years then you will get accordingly the same.
one of my frend in centennial college in year 2012, he had got 3 years open work permit after completion of only 8 months course or you can say 1 year just because of that college letter, although the course he had taken had two options for him that either he can left after 1 year or complete 2 year but actually the course as per college is 2 year , so he had got letter of 2 year studys.
if you need that guy number i can provide you for assistance, he is still in scarborough .
Thanks for your response Orange_girl. Mine is a 1 yr course 3 sems, I am thinking I should do another 1 yr program after ds 1 to get 3 yrs work permit ....really confused

you are welcome. I went for a two-year program because I knew I could get a 3-year work permit. There was an intensive professional accounting program that was compressed in 45 weeks, it had more CGA transferable courses than my program, but my priority was a longer validity of the work permit. So you have to decide, if you can afford two three-semester programs then go for it, otherwise switch to a two-year program.
