Yeah I only have a few days left to leave Canada. I think I'll have to turn down my employment offer and pack up soon. Will be hectic due to so much stuff as I've been here for over 6 years. Immigration officer said it may be the university's fault but the decision is final.

Dude, I saw you in earlier threads and what people here answered you are correct. Basically, you must apply for a restoration of study permit and post grad work permit at the same time. Did you search this forum as one suggested, or if you can't do that, talk to a lawyer as another one said?
It's ironic that you've already secured a job, which most people struggle to do. Don't let the opportunity slip away and waste 6 years of your life.
The worst case is to apply for another study permit, short one 6 months maybe. After that you can apply for PGWP again, and it will be valid for 3 years.

Yes but for restoration of status I need a study permit extension, which I cannot apply for as I have graduated.

Of course you need to have graduated to apply for PGWP at the same time of applying for restoration of status.
I have a question. Why do some people get 3 years work permit even though they graduate from 1 year course?? how come it is possible..
Is it all luck??? or they accept the period of time about English Language Program ??
My status just changed from submitted to updated, so I am assuming they are looking at the application. I applied May 17th and I think I will hear back tomorrow. Hoping I get approved!

You can work full-time until a decision is made on your work permit application if you:
- completed your study program
- applied for a work permit before your study permit expired and
- were eligible to work off-campus without a work permit while studying and did not work more hours than you were allowed to while working off-campus.
If these don’t apply to you, you must wait until the permit arrives to begin your new job. It is illegal to work in Canada without a permit.
If your work permit is refused, you must stop working the day you are notified of the refusal.
