I am currently on student visa valid til July 2016 and planning to apply for post graduate work permit in Apr 2016
I would get that permit valid for 2 years (considering my course duration).
My passport is valid until March 2018. If I apply for the work permit I might not get 2 years permit since my passport will expire before that
And I also checked blsindia website. According to them i can only renew my passport up to 1 year before its expiry
