Post-grad work permit question

Hello,

I am an undergraduate transfer student in Canada. I am getting a second undergraduate degree (chose a totally different major).
Technically, I am in my year 1 now, and the length of the program is 4 years. The problem is, I received a substantial amount of transfer credit and only need 56 more credits to graduate (so, roughly 2 years).

I would be grateful if somebody could clarify this:

1. Does the post-grad work permit depend on the nominal length of your program or on the actual time of study?
2. If it depends on the actual study time, should I then take minimum course load to postpone graduation?

i would think it depends on the program only. i have some ib credits and get my bba degree in 3 years. however, on my school letter, it just says "i have completed all the requirement for a bba degree" and my adviser says that cic will assume a bba degree takes 4 years to complete.

That's very reassuring. I would not want to intentionally prolong my studies.
