I have my oath ceremony on April 19. The Mississauga office emailed us with instructions to switch the in-person ceremony to a virtual ceremony via Zoom.

That's great news! They didn't cancel! A ray of hope

They sent an urgent email at around noon on April 18 with instructions that the meeting will be held virtually, followed by a second email at around 1-2 pm with additional instructions including the Zoom invite.

Looks like it. They sent me the first email shortly after noon April 18. They also noted that the office may be closed to the public on April 19.

Please share updates. I have oath on May 2, 2023. Looks like all those who have been invited before today will get their oath done. Further oath invites have been halted. Thats what I think

Hi friends, I just had my oath ceremony yesterday April 18 2023. Anyone here who had the ceremony yesterday? Also, will the strike impact receiving citizenship certificate?

Hey, they sent me an email at 7:32 am that my 7:45 am ceremony has been cancelled due to the strike. This is so frustrating, especially since they sent instructions to switch to virtual the day before.

I guess the silver lining that historically the protests won’t last for too long and it can be business as usual before we know it.

It must be frustrating to be stopped at the finish line :/
Hope the gov and employees reach a satisfactory agreement very soon, and that you're all back on track ASAP.
