It is so odd that people who work for government strike because they are underpaid. These days I am scared doing grocery shopping, real estate/rentals are through the roof (pun intended). I say we all go on strike whatever you do just go on strike and demand higher pay! You deserve it! We deserve it!

Did you get the confirmation email for your ceremony on the 28th or did they send you the cancellation notice without you even receiving the confirmation in the first place?
Thank you ! do you have a idea what would be the latest time we can cancel before the event ? like if I send a email the 4th to reschedule my oath it would be acceptable ? thank you again
I don’t know how the rescheduling due to strike will happen! I was just suggesting not to ask for reschedule yourself. If the IRCC cancels you due to strike, that’s one thing. And if you ask for reschedule yourself, that’s another thing. Because you know how this kind of reschedules were treated historically, even from this forum

I am really hoping to get rescheduled for a early May or second week - I qualified for a free Mediterranean cruise via my company and immediately i got the official email of citizenship ceremony, I booked flights, hotel etc for 30th May 2023 with the hope and believe that by this time tomorrow I would be having my ceremony.

Hold tight we are on the same boat with close timelines (we send our application for citizenship in Feb 2022) , we got to our oath stage but now stuck due to delays ..good luck
Not to mention the massive privacy / security threat. These clowns have all our personal data on their work laptops, now they want to connect it to their home WiFi where they also visit Facebook & TikTok with their malware ridden personal devices.
The way they do things defies logic and common sense most of the time, unfortunately. I wouldn't be surprised if they reschedule the canceled ceremonies randomly.
I know right, IRCC employees work like magic. there's alot of people out there with 2020/2021 citizenship grant application still stuck in limbo.
Too bad! Too Too bad!!!!

But yet they want a 13.5% wage increase. Smh...
Let's not forget that they're getting paid out from OUR taxes.
At this point, I think it would be fair for the government to hold a referendum and ask us, the taxpayers, if we agree to pay the public workers more. I bet the vote result would be a massive NO.

Taxes are high and will get higher if civil servants get the double-digit wage increase they're demanding
