Hi
I live in USA and working here being H1B holder work permit. now if i get canadian pr based on spouse sponsorship of my wife, do i have to move to canada or can i work in USA being h1b candidate and after 5 years, can i be eligible to renew Canadian PR card without living in canada?
what are possibility to lose PR?
if i lose canadian PR then can i get again PR based on Spouse or how can i make canadian PR active without being in canada and staying & working in USA?
can canadian PR holder work in USA legally?
Thanks,
DK

If your spouse is a Canadian citizen, the time spent outside of Canada living with him/her will count towards your Residency Obligation days (730 within each rolling 5 year period).

first of all thanks for reply.
well in my case, i m living in USA and she is canadian PR and she lives in canada. so i can make my canadian pr active and valid though i live in USA?

If you are subject to Conditional PR rules, it will require you to live with your sponsor spouse at the same address for 2 years after becoming PR.

Also once you get PR if you don't live with your spouse and stay in USA alone, after 3 years you'll be in violation of the residency obligation and could have your PR status revoked. So if you intend to live in USA while she lives in Canada for next 5 years, don't even bother to apply now.

Yup. Don't apply or get ur PR right now. It doesn't make sense. Once u finally decide to move to Canada, then apply.
