So I think I really screwed up this time (not the first time in this whole process....) But I applied to get a UK Police form and I got it sent to me no problem. I didn't, however, include the "Request for Police Certificates/Clearances and Authorization for Release of Information" form in my Police form application, and I also didn't send fingerprints or whatever.

Can I still send the original Police Forms that were sent to me in my application? Or will they completely disregard them? I think I need to hire somebody, I keep f*cking up with all this fine print.

Help :(

The forms you have aren't enough. You can send them along with your application - however you'll have to include a note letting CIC know that you are obtaining the right police certificates and will mail them as soon as they are available. Or you can hold off submitting the application until it's complete.

Chill, you didn't screw up :)

Who told you that you needed to send the "Request for Police Certificates/Clearances and Authorization for Release of Information" form and fingerprints?? Whoever it is has no idea what they are talking about. The UK police doesn't require either to be able to issue you a certificate.

Provided you submitted the application as directed here http://www.acro.police.uk/police_certificates.aspx, then the certificate you received is perfectly fine.

My partner applied for his UK PCC. He didn't send that form or fingerprints; he submitted the app as directed by the UK police. CIC accepted it perfectly fine :)

There is actually only one certificate that can be obtained through the site, so the OP does have the right one.

I confirm what Canuck_in_UK says. Acro, who issue the police certificates in the UK, do not require fingerprints. You just fill in the application form, get it endorsed by one of the people on the list they supply, include the correct fee and photograph and 3 weeks or so later you get the standard police form which you then send to CIC with your application.

I got worried there. All I sent was an UK police certificate (the original one not the ones meant for people who emigrate) is that still good enough?

Which certificate are you referring to? How did you apply for it?

I already had a police clearance from the UK (the Scotland Yard one) from when I lived there from 2007-2011! I don't remember when it was valid from but I am sure it was produced just before I "moved" out here.

They would have mentioned it to us by now then I'm guessing though. Since we're past 7 months into it all.

If they haven't yet checked to see what countries you've lived in and what PCCs you need, then they could still very well ask for it. My partner got a PCC request around the 6-7 month mark.

You can either wait and see what the VO says or order the other one now and send it in. The VO might accept the one you sent or might tell you to get the other one.

Alrighty thank you. I think I'm gonna wait and see if they request it. I mean it should work in my opinion. It clearly states no offences and it was requested just before I left for Canada. But if they request it I'm gonna order it from that website. Thanks again :)

I would wait too. If they do request the other one, you can pay extra for it to be processed in a few days and have it mailed directly to London CIC.

Even if I applied inland?

Quick question on this subject . How long are these police certificates valid for . Applying outland from the U.k . Just starting our process, of filling out the application .
