I've spent the last year living in NZ and so have applied for a police check from there for my PR application. However, it says on the CIC website that the 'The applicant must sign and send an authorization form...consenting to the disclosure of information by the New Zealand Police to Canadian authorities...However, the certificate will be released directly to the Canadian Consulate in Sydney, Australia.' So given that I don't have anything to send in, should I just confirm on my application that an authorisation form has been sent and assume that they will collect it?
Hi, I'm applying to Sydney as well and the result of my Australian police check is sent straight to the visa office as well. You don't need to confirm anything on your application, the people at the visa office should be able to put the police check result with your application even if they don't arrive together.
Looks like there is a specific form that you fill in to request one: http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/australia-australie/visas/police_australian-australie_police.aspx?lang=eng
I've already filled out and sent the form - however my outland application will be processed in London, since I'm English, so how does my NZ police check form in Sydney get married with my application in London?!
Well did you list London as your visa office on the form?? It looks like they forward the police report to the visa office that you have selected. So if you wrote London then that's where they'll send it. If you have concerns then you should contact the Consulate General in Sydney using the contact information on the form.
I'm not sure with NZ, but Australian police can send the result anywhere. So as ariell said, whichever visa office you ask them to send it to, they'll send it there.
I had to get my new zealand police certificate also, just go to the new zealand justice website and their is a free application form, but also Immigration Canada asked for the original document, but im already in canada, so I had them send it to my mothers address in new zealand and she then sent it to my canada address. dont know if this helps, but its the process I had to do.
I'm slightly confused - it says "canadian visa office where processed". Does that mean Mississauga for outland, or Sydney AU, where the app ends up for the second part of processing?
Hi friends,

You can write to privacy @ police.govt.nz and simply tell them you want your own personal history information from Newzealand police. Send your id proofs along. Write your name, dob, address of Newzealand and present address. They send it out within 10 to 20 days by email. Forward it to embassy, all should be good.
