In the second stage of the application (to send to Buffalo) some of the documents they are asking for have to be originals... I don't want to send originals because some of them are from other countries and I will not be able to get another original copy, for example transcripts and work experience letters. Is it ok if I take copies and get them notarized and then send them to Buffalo???
Also do I need to send the documents to Buffalo following their checklist or should I send them according to the checklist for Nova Scotia...???? the reason I ask is because the document checklist for Nova Scotia ask for e.g. proof of funds in between on the forms.... and for the Buffalo checklist they ask for proof of funds at the end point 11 (settlement funds)....

Hi,
Please check every section of document checklist (Buffalo)carefully. As far as I know, PCC, university transcripts and Language test results may be the only documents need to be sent in original. If they specifically ask for original work experience letters (I do not think they would) then you have to send originals. University transcripts need to be sent in university sealed envelops which you can request from the university at anytime. Once again, please check your documents checklist, Not the checklist for CIO, NS.

Hi,
Unfortunately, You have to send original up-to date work reference letters. For transcripts, notarized copies will do. What if you send a self addressed envelop with a letter to visa officer explaining that you need your orginal work reference letters together with your passport once visa is issued. explain why you want them back. what happens if you send notarized copies of reference letters?? That is something only the visa officer knows!! Consult seniors here who applied through Buffalo with a new thread!
Good luck

its just that I studied / worked in a different country... then i moved here and some of those schools / offices have closed down or my ole bosses have quit the companies I worked for. So it is really hard to get originals again. I am millions of miles away and if my application gets rejected (hopefully it won't) I will not be able to get originals back...
I think I will just send notarized copies and then send a letter explaining the same.
