I see quite a few threads here about FBI, but not many people are talking about RCMP. Maybe I am missing something obvious - do I need police certificate for my time in Canada (I've been a PR physically in Canada for 3 years).
The checklist says:
"Original police certificates or clearances from each country where you were present for a total of 183 days or more in the 4 years immediately before the date of your application"
In the application form, question 10b also has the exact same text.
Instruction guide for question 10b says:
"Within the last 4 years, if you spent 183 days or more in another country (other than Canada), you must provide a police certificate. You must provide a police certificate for each country where you spent 183 days or more.", where the two sentences might mean different things.
Thanks guys. I wouldn't even ask this if the guide didn't have both of these sentences: "Within the last 4 years, if you spent 183 days or more in another country (other than Canada), you must provide a police certificate. You must provide a police certificate for each country where you spent 183 days or more."

Please, you are overreading this. I will personally pay you a five week trip, all inclusive plus flight, to the Caribbean if they ask you for a canadian police certificate during the process. That's how sure I am.
