I was curious if anyone was ever asked for a Police Certificate for countries she/he stayed for less than 6 months. Even if you stay -let's say- 2 years in a place in the last 3-4 years, but never for 6 months in a row, you do not need a PC?

Depends on how big the gap beteeen stays is.
CIC says if you stayed 5 months in a country and then go to a 2 week vacation and then stayed 3 more montgs this is considered 8 montgs living there.
I was in us 2007 for 3 months and then 2008 for 5 but thia had 8 months periods between stays. So I do not need a police certificate ..I applied for one just in case though..
