Hi folks! I have a quick question. When calculating your CRS points, do the points for years of experience apply to your current NOC only or is it cumulative?
All my work since finishing undergrad has been related to my Bachelor's degree but my first NOC was 2147 (Network Engineer for 4 years) then 0225 (IT Vendor Management/Procurement for 2.5 years) and now I'm a 0213 (IT project manager for eight months).
I have more than seven years experience in total. How will CIC look at this? Thanks for reading!
I have the same question as yours and looks like you have already landed in canada.
I hope you can help me out.
Hi Guys ,
I hope some one can help me out.
----
My wife is a Bachelors as well as a Masters.
She did her Bachelors in 2007 and after that worked in the Engineering field (textile engineer) for 4 years from 2007 till 2011 .
Post that she pursued her MBA - HR from 2011 - 2013 (2 yrs) and thereafter she has been working for almost 2 yrs 3 months as a Human Resource personnel.
Though Her total work experience is 6.3 years [4 yrs engineering job + 2.3 years HR job] , I am not sure if i can select Experience > 3 years in the Express Entry profile.
If i can select Exp > 3 years in EE profile , then i believe i can have CRS score > 450 which will definitely help my profile.
Kindly provide your valuable comments

When you create an EE profile, you will need to give them a Primary Occupation on which you want your PR application to be based. In other words, only work experiences that fall under the same NOC can be counted cumulatively towards the work experience section of your CRS score.
For Yam Power's case, you'd better choose 2147 as you primary occupation since this work experience will give you the highest points.
For ashu0729's case, you should choose the engineering job for the same reason.
For all federal immigration programs (FSWP, CEC, etc.), you do not have to work in the same field as your study field.
When you apply for EE-Federal Skilled Worker Program, you are using your past work experience to support your application. According to the EE-FSWP requirements, the primary occupation work experience that you are using to support yourself in your application must be within the past 10 years. In other words, as long as this work experience was obtained within the past 10 years, you can use them. It doesn't matter whether you are still working for this company on this job or not, it doesn't even matter if you are currently working or unemployed. The only problem is, if you are not currently working for this company, it might be difficult for you to get a reference letter and other supporting document from this employer. But yes you can definitely use any work experience as long as they are obtained within the past ten years!
