Hi guys, I am outside India now and have to show PF as proof of funds under FSWP category. Since I cannot go to the PF office to collect the statement, can I use the online statement? Will it be accepted? Any way that I can get the statement from Canada?
If CIC wont accept online statement, kindly suggest what should I do in this situation.
Any way to support the online statement with an affidavit and LOE? I cannot travel to India now and PF office will not issue statement to anyone else..

PF office can issue the statement to family/friends.
You need to provide the authority letter and ask the person to carry the print of PF ledger and also your UAN card.
Thanks, will try that option. One more question. Do you think if my friend/relative goes to a different PF office(say Delhi) than my actual PF office (which is in Mumbai), will they issue a statement?

The PF office usually don't give out any statements, and may inturn ask you to download the updated statements from Govt. run website.
You can take an updated PF statement from the website, and get hold of a CA (chartered accountant) who can help you prepare a cover letter/affidavit explaining the terms and conditions under which you can utilize the funds, and also how much funds you are entitled to.

I just attached the pdf statement of my PF downloaded from the website and explained through LOE my split-up of (gift deed + bank balance + pf) to show source of funds and it worked out fine for me. You are not going to get anything signed from EPFO and since the statement is already in English it doesn't seem to be any need or use in getting it notarized.
