Hi
My CRS score for express entry is 467 . I was hoping to get an ITA on 23 March 2016 draw, but since cut off was 470 i missed the mark. I called my immigration agent today .I am so disappointed ???, i will not get any additional CRS point for getting BC PNP since it was paper based application .
My agent said i can apply at federal level ( which is hell lot slower than the federal express entry -takes around 1 year and by that time my work permit would expire )using BC PNP nomination since this nomination wont give any additional point for express entry. I seriously dont understand the logic of penalizing paper based PNP applicants ( after one long year of wait, we can not even use it for express entry -then what is the whole point ).
My work permit will expire in January 17, so i am worried now. Any suggestions are deeply appreciated. Thanks

You don't require PNP. You have enough points to be qualified for ITA. The cut off will surely come down.. I have seen many times, when cut off was close to 450. Just wait for next draw. Hopefully, your application will get picked up.
You still have more than 9 month for your work permit expiry.. So, don't worry. Just wait for right time.

Agree with you.

That sucks !!!!
Your score is good don't worry.
I'd say wait for a couple of draws and see. Pretty sure score will come down around 465.

I know the PR through paper-based PNP takes 1 year, but you should also be able to get a BOWP due to the nomination or the AOR from your PR application. You'll still retain legal status in Canada anyway.
Even if you get an ITA later in the year through Express Entry, you can also apply for a BOWP if your R10 is OK 4 months before your WP expires.
same suggestion, just wait for ITA. You don't need to worry about the expiration date of work permit since you can get a Bridging open work permits when your PR app is under review www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/temp/work/prov/bridging.asp

Agreed!
Nobody knows if EE score will drop.
Having alternatives is a good idea
Still working on BC PNP or something else, if you get ITA you can keep both applications until see which one provides PR soon.
