I hope this a good sign that they are making a decsion soon. I also sent did my medical again recently and I got this note from my MP's office that “Application is awaiting the review of an officer. Notification will be sent in due course.” let's pray and hope the end is near

For those of you guys who are Jan 2017, do you have dependents or spouse? or it is just a single application?
I'm trying to prepare myself for the worst scenario haha. I'm Jun 2017 (through SINP). Seems like it might take me more than 24 months

Yes, I know, and it seems like there are people in here that applied in Jan 2017 and did not receive anything yet. That is why I was asking about dependents or spouse

I think usually when applications go on for that long it means the applicant was selected for security screening, which I heard can add 6-9 months to the processing time

I think you can find out by ordering gcms, CBSA and CSIS notes. From what I understand it's a more thorough screening of the applicant than usual for whatever reason
