Did they request extra documents or PCC or fingerprints to u ? Or you dent them at the beginning with your application? I just sent at the beginning my PCC from my home country.

for sure and regarding docs. i submitted all the PCC and even RPRF with the application .

CIO SYDNEY requested me RCMP fingerprint on May 16 by separate email .They received my new certificate on june 1. :-X

How come somebody they ask to submit fingerprints and others not? What is this request based on?

From what I have heard if you have a common name they ask for fingerprints and RCMP clearance because there might be someone who has a criminal record with a similar name as yours. They just want to verify that it is not the person concerned.

I've heard this too, but they have a copy of passport and DOB and other information - hard to make mistake..

That's true.. but I guess they want us to do all the legwork cuz we are at the receiving end lol

i dont have a common name at all it is kindda made up and my last name is a rare last name in my home country. I dont have idea why they request them for some people and others not. I guess it depends on you profile rather your names

It doesn't necessarily have to be a common name but if there is someone else with your name with a criminal record, that would be a reason. This is what cic told 1 of my family members.
