Im a late Dec applicant. Got PPR December 10th. Sent passport on the 11th. Got the passport on the 21st (Sunday) and landed today at the Edmonton office.
Thank you. There is a process. First you need to call the CIC call centre and state your intention to complete the landing process. then they will get ur info and COPR expiry date and forward it to the local CIC office. They will also say that the wait time is 8 weeks and to expect a call in about 6 weeks. In my case I called them at 630am and got the call from CIC in Edmonton at 1030am on the same day. They asked me to come the following day(today) at a specific time.
Reassessments for a new medical certificate
This section contains policy, procedures and guidance used by CIC staff. It is posted on the CIC website as a courtesy to stakeholders.
Officers can request a reassessment of an applicant’s medical file by a medical officer or a Health Branch delegated staff. Such request may result in the issuance of a new medical certificate.
Note:
The decision to grant a reassessment is at the discretion of a medical officer or a Health Branch delegated staff.
The process applies only to cases where a final decision is pending due to either:
the expiration of a medical certificate; or,
when the validity of the medical certificate is about to expire and the applicant is unable to land before it expires.
The process does not apply to applicants who are inadmissible on health grounds since inadmissible ‘M’ profiles do not expire.
Eligibility criteria for requesting a reassessment of the applicant’s medical file:
Medical assessment is less than 15 months old (for applicants residing inside or outside Canada); or
Medical assessment is older than 15 months, and the applicant has been residing in Canada continuously for at least the past 2 years (for applicants residing in Canada only).

Your case really gets my hopes up as I have been waiting for PPR for two months now and my worry is that I won't have enough time in my COPR before my medicals expire (Febr 17,2015)
On top of that I live at about 1,200km from the south boarder to the US (Coutts) and the Edmonton CIC office would be the best option (still an hour's flight)
Did you call 1-888-242‑2100? Choose option 2 - immigrate?

the number is the same 1-888-242-2100 Its option two-Immigrate-Option three-permanent resident card and then I believe zero to speak to the agent. I called early in the morning cuz later on in the day they are very busy and you should expect to be on hold for maybe about 45 mins at times. Once they request ur passports I think ur medical and other documents are irrelevant. My COPR had three months on it Expiry date was in March.
so we received out COPR, and went to the US border to flag pole. The officer asked why we didn't make an appointment in the city. And said that our permits do not authorize re-entry. So we were scared. But in the end everything worked out. Wonder why he said that, he really scared me for some reason.
