I just got my PGWP for three years but the work permit that was going on for two years for spouse got declined. She can reapply, but she will be needing LMO/HRDSC. She is employed but it is difficult to say whether her employer will take this "extra" load. My questions are;
1. How long this LMO usually takes?
She can get a letter from her employer (it is a big company in Canada) saying that she is employed, but although her position is titled "specialist" it is not in category of importance in terms of O, A, B listings
2. If employer is not willing to file for LMO, what are her choices? Such as school, etc. Her visa expires Dec 30, 2011
3. Any other ideas are welcome that I might have failed to imagine.
HI
1, 6-8 weeks i guess. i got my PLMO just shy of 2 month. am in BC.
your wife's company need to apply for LMO and fax or mail them.
2, visitor visa, study permit.
when i had my PGWP, my wife has a visiter visa. she can stay as long as you have a valid status here.
3,why dont you guys apply for PR.
Thanks Pounce and Arsenel123. Your suggestions help. I guess I now have to apply to extend temp res status first and then to seek LMO from employer, which if happens work for both extension and the PR. Regards, TEK
