I am still waiting for my 2nd & 3rd sets of prints which were sent on June 3...so it has been almost 5 weeks..a couple of weeks to go I think. My 4th (and the follow up print after the rejection) has been in process (hopefully) for 3-4 weeks (forgot to count lol).
I hate that it takes so long to even tell you they were rejected, ugh. I am praying my hubby's were fine.
If they come back rejected I am saying screw it and forcing my lawyer to send our application in without it for now, I can at least get sponsorship approval while we wait. If she refuses, I am tempted to fire her and demand a refund of some of the money I have paid, because other than helping us fill out the forms so far, she has not done much.
Dayanara - if it eases your worries at all, the lawyer I spoke with (she isn't filing out forms for me but I had some case-specific questions that needed expert answers) told me to plan on sending the application without the FBI record, and just to wait until the file is received in Buffalo. She said, no need to hold up the whole process, since they won't even look at the FBI record in missisauga (so long as you include a note telling why you didn't include the record and/or proof that you sent it out already and are waiting for results).
Yea, I am getting tired of her telling me it cannot be sent without something when I am seeing the contrary all over these forums. I have waited this long already (7 weeks for the FBI) so can wait another week or so. But I am extremely frustrated.
Wish I had found these forums beforehand, honestly doubting we would have gotten a lawyer, but at the same time she has offered us great advise and made sure our forms were perfect, so hard to say.
I think I am just getting frustrated with this whole process. Need to step back and breathe.
Wow they gave you that much information? Good luck!
When did they receive the prints? The FBI received my husband's on May 25th. He's flying up to visit me for 5 days on the 14th so I doubt he'll have them in time (we're worried they will show up while he's gone and get lost).
Dayanara, this is wonderful news!! If yours and mine were both recieved May 17th, mine too may be sent. Did they say whether they were accepted or rejected??? If they know it will be mailed, they should know that much.
Dayanara, I just called them (it was so hard because I'm so afraid of hearing rejection... I was shaking!!) and I too talked to a nice lady. She gave me my file number and told me it's in the system and will take another 2-3 weeks, but she also couldn't tell me if they were accepted or rejected. I'm so frusterated!!
they received my prints June 1st, and the lady could not tell me anything at all until 12-14 weeks after they were received. I know you guys have gotten information earlier, but I guess it really depends on the person you get on the other end of the phone.
Besides, this lady said no information available until 12-14 weeks ,and got very upset when I asked her which one, 12 weeks or 14 weeks. :
