Hello All,
I’m an Egyptian Ph.D. student in the University of Waterloo. I applied for a permanent residence after being legally here in Canada for 1 year. I sent my application to Centralized Intake Office (CIO) and CIO recommended my application to the BUFFALO visa office for a final determination. They sent me an e-mail on November 5, 2010. I have two questions:
1- I had translated all documents (birth certificate, police certificate, and other documents) in Egypt before entering CANADA. My wife last name is: HANEEN (this is the English translation of her Arabic name). Her last name in Arabic can be translated to HANEEN or HENEEN. So, we have some documents (her birth certificate and police certificate) with HENEEN, and some other document (her passport and Master’s degree certificate) with HANEEN. It is just only one letter. So, do I need to re-translate all the documents before sending to BUFFALO visa office? I’m very worried about this point and don’t know what to do.
2- I entered CANADA on May 2, 2009 and since then I did not leave CANADA to any other country. I got my police certificate from Egypt on March 17, 2009 before entering CANADA by one and a half months. My wife has a similar situation: she entered CANADA on October 30, 2009, and got her police certificate on August, 2009 (she did not leave CANADA). Do we need to get a new police certificate from Egypt?
Thanks and appreciate your reply
