I dont use surname in my passport shud i leave that spot empty for surname and give my name in given name section

if ur applicant then try to change ur name in pp coz it always make issue in countries like usa canada,,,i have same issue so i made new passport with surname

Better u go with proceed because their still got chances for approval ...but if u go with withdraw then u can get refunded but when u wanna try again then its gonna be difficult and u need to clear all red flag those make u r not eligible to sponsor ...
About sure name ..not to worried ..u still can filed ur application without sure name ...i am also not using my sure name and passport got under my name only ..CIC never make any issued about this till now ..by the way wait for senior advise also may be they gonna give u best and better advise than me ...Good luck and God bless all of us
