Please advise: TRV after applying for BOWP

Friends, I am right now on a closed WP and have a valid TRV approved by Ottawa. If I apply for BOWP and if it gets approved and I leave to my home country, is it possible to travel back to Canada on TRV issued based on my closed WP or should I apply for a TRV again from my home country based on the BOWP issued?

Also, once BOWP is issued, will the closed WP become a void document?

Please advise.

I thought you can possess multiple WP's simultaneously.. Hence If BOWP arrives, it is not mandatory that your existing closed WP is void.
Please suggest.

I agree with PMM. One should not possess multiple WPs at any given point in time.
