Phone interview canadian high commision delhi

Hi every one...My wife Just got a phone call from Delhi canadian high comission...question they ask were
1). Where your husband lives
2). Where does he work? what position?
3). Which university he went through?
4). Where does your parents lives?
5). when was the ritual marriage took place?

After one day of phone interview they again called and requested for passport scan copy?

I am wondering what they are looking for? Does any one has the same experience? why they are asking for documents again and again which were previously sent in the file?
