Hi, i have been given the PGWP until the expiration date of my passport. i have a new passport now. i would like to extend it. i know there is an option for paper application. but i was wondering if i could flagpole. cuz already i have to pay 255 dollars again, and then the time is gonna be pain if i apply on paper this time (there is no way i can do it online this time, it is confirmed with cic). since i would be having implied status between the time i get new pgwp extended from the time the old expires. i live in ottawa. so i can go to niagra or any other border where ever its possible.
any suggestions? has any one done flagpolling for PGWP extension? i do not want to waste 4 months of my life with implied status in a foreign country alone. its painful....
It is not guranteed that you will get an extension at the boarder, But there is a good chance that you will get one
Make sure your TRV or PGWP is still valid, If it is not valid then flagpoling can be risky
Take as many documents with you as you can
Fill out an application form ( They might not ask for application, But its good to have it, In case they ask)
Attach all required documents
Take your PNP or LMIA if you have one
take your job offer leeter with you, if you have one
When you enter in the CBSA office, ask them that you want to talk to an Immigration officer
Tell your situation to officer and politly request him to extend your work permit
