Hello everyone,
I have received my letter of an invitation last Sept 23 and I am in the middle of gathering all the documents and filling out the forms needed.
Good luck to all aspiring sponsors and I hope you will get yours soon too!
Cheers,
Alevans
A question folks if you guys can help me.
I have received the invite for my parents. I am the sponsor(husband), my income is much lower than my wife(co-signer) but our combined income is $100k plus for last so many years so I am assuming we are good from the MNI perspective. While checking the sponsor’s financial ability, can the IRCC say that you being the sponsor are earning very less compared to your co-signer so you won’t be able to support the parents? could this lead to unsuccessful decision or rejection?

Hello Deltaedmonton,
You should be good to sponsor your parents with a co-signer (wife). IRCC won't check who earns more and less on your application. As long as you meet the Income requirements for PGP 2021 (2020, 2019, 2018).
See table below:
| Total number of people you’ll be responsible for | 2020Footnote1 | 2019Footnote1 | 2018Footnote1 |
|---|
| 2 people | $32,270 | $41,007 | $40,379 |
|---|
| 3 people | $39,672 | $50,414 | $49,641 |
|---|
| 4 people | $48,167 | $61,209 | $60,271 |
|---|
| 5 people | $54,630 | $69,423 | 68,358 |
|---|
| 6 people | $61,613 | $78,296 | $77,095 |
|---|
| 7 people | $68,598 | $87,172 | $85,835 |
|---|
| If more than 7 people, for each additional person, add: | $6,985 | $8,876 | $8,740 |

Hello Friends,
I have a scenario i need clarification with, In 2018 i January to mid April, i was on EI (received $7,244) then in April i got a job and earned $67,000 making it a total of $74,244 which makes my income for 2018 above the cut of $68,358.
My question is that will the EI i received be considered as part of my income for 2018 or just the one i received from my job in 2018

Thanks for the reply.
No issues. Ultimately you both are sponsoring so combined income matters. If I get invited for my in laws, we have same situation. My wife doesn't even work. We have applied for my in laws based on my income. You will not get rejection due to income as long as it meets the income criteria! Hope it is helpful
Thanks for the reply

No EI will not count towards your income in 2018. You’ll need to subtract it from your taxable income to calculate LICO. You no longer qualify.
Hello I got mine 2 days ago. I have a question about family size and income requirement. Actually when I submitted application last year our family size was 2018( me, wife, father and mother=4), 2019( same as in 2018 =4), in 2020 we had a baby so family size became 5. Now in 2021 we had another baby. will my family size for 2018,2019,2020 will be effected because of baby born in 2021 or it will remain same. Please help
you still need to meet NOA for 7 people for 2021 on. Given longer processing times times and the economy there is a good chance you will need to prove that you continued to meet LICO.
Does all the application send out ?? All done ?

You are right……. Will try our luck next time time then….
You have to wait until the draw is over and use the link provided to see and prove that you were selected. Then take a screenshot. write a letter explaining what happened and provide them with updated email address and attach the screenshot with the webform. Meanwhile, Prepare all the documents have them ready and signed, not dated. Follow the checklist. Once you get an invitation letter from cic, sign the documents and off you go. It will save you a lot of time. Remember it's 60 days but it can be extended if you have a VALID reason.
Thank you SamarGill29, appreciate your suggestion. I will do so. I have started filling the forms.
