I came to canada on a student visa and met a girl who is a canadian permanent resident. We are thinking of getting married in 2 months. After we get married how can i apply for my permanent residency card? What is the procedure and how much time it usually takes.
Also, depending on where you come from, the application immediately after a new marriage may raise some flags with CIC regarding the possibility of a "marriage of convenience". It will be your job to convince CIC that this is not the case. I am making no assumptions here about your relationship, but CIC are starting to get very strict.
Until you get either an Open Work Permit (apply at the same time as an INLAND PR application) or you get your PR, you are only a visitor.. nothing more. You will need to extend any visitor visas that you need. Six months is the usual initial limit. Do not be tempted to work or study...
Your status will not change when you apply for PR. If you are now on a study permit, you will continue to be on a study permit. If it expires, you must apply to extend it or apply for something else.

While u r refugee. ..u asking canada for protection...on other hand u want to go back to india...while u said in refugee case whole india is unsafe for u.???..they can araise question after getting pr how country can.become safe for u to return....????
Ok this is what I understand about your case:
You are Indian
You are an Intl Student
You have applied for Refugee status
Now you have found a GF who is a PR and want to marry her
You then want to return to visit India
Do you really expect CIC to grant you a spousal PR after you go visit India, a coutry that you have claimed refuge from? I would fully expect CIC to consider your marriage to be fraudlent and decline your app. A refugee claim from India getting married to a PR is suspicious enough in itself without factoring in your wanting to visit the homeland you have claimed you are being persecuted in!
Refugee cases from India now a days...not going to approve...chances r 1% to be approve...99 % is.nope...for refugees...soo think some kind of right route to CIC....
