Your passport is new or old? My friend got old passport and he waited more than 3 months to get PCC in BLS Edmonton. They will send a request to India for police verification. They will issue PCC once they receive police verification report from India. My passport is new and I got PCC in 3 weeks time in BLS Edmonton. For new passports police verification report will be available to them online.
My passport was issued in 2011, so I'm guessing that's "old".
However, I got a PCC just before coming to Canada a couple of years back, so I'm hoping they already have my PCC on file, as I did not stay in India since then.

I got my PCC in 2 weeks...lady at BLS calgary told me if u have not travel to india or any other country after got to canada it is relatively faster to get PCC..and i got it 2 weeks hope it helps
As a matter of fact i got my passport and PCC on thursday. I got it through fedex..whole process took exact 2 weeks. I applied on thursday 2 week before

I applied on 11th July and got it back on 8th August. I had applied for PCC at BLS Toronto in Oct 2013 also, and have not traveled to India since then, even then it took about a month. So for Toronto, it usually takes a month and doesn't depend too much on the passport. Once it shows in transit to BLS center, it will take only 2-3 days from then for you to get it. Hopefully you get it before you leave!
