We are Indian Citizens but have been residing in the US for past one year. As we were reading the forum we came across the fact that PCC takes a long time. We are at a score of 405. Looking at the current pattern of ITA draws and assuming that we get ITA in May or June 2017.
1. When should we apply for PCC for USA and India?
2. What is the process for the same?

For US PCC which takes maximum time - you can start the process now - it will take 2 months and the PCC from FBI will be valid for 6 months assuming you continue to stay in the US. Here is the FBI link

For India, you can easily apply PCC after getting ITA from the embassy based on your jurisdiction (state of residence) - it will take couple of days at most.
Furthermore, for FBI, you can get fingerprints taken from your local county Police department or sheriff's office - they will provide this service and print it on the FBI mandated card.
Another thing to keep in mind for India PCC, please do not travel to India after you get the PCC from consulate - it will be invalid and you need to get another one since it must be after the date of most recent exit from the country.
