Paying fees in local currency or Canadian Dollars?

Hi guys!
The CIC instruction says the fees are to be paid in Canadian Dollars ONLY. However, my visa specific form (Appendix A) gives you the option of paying in either Canadian Dollars or local currency. As under the new rules all category 1 applications need to be sent to the Sydney NS office, I wonder which option to take. Could you help?
