My husband was approved on Jan 20th for his PR we sent his passport away the same day. He's in Canada with me so it was sent to Fort Erie then sent to Buffalo then to Los Angeles where his PR was processed. Our ecas was changed to decision made on Feb 17 I emailed Buffalo and LA twice the only one that ever replies is Buffalo they told me his passport has been stamped but they don't have it back yet. Does anyone know of a number I can call. I called the immigration number in Canada they told me that they're system are different then America's and they can't see any info. I even called the postal service they said if mail is missing the person that sent it has to file a ticket. I don't want to keep bothering Buffalo but they're the only ones that actually email me back. Anyone have any advice? I hope his passport isn't lost somewhere
I am at a loss why there continues to be this request to mail/send passports across the border! The opportunity for their being lost - removed from the mail by customs on either side of the border makes the practice appear unwise.
Would those who are told they have been approved not be willing to travel directly to the visa post to have the visa placed in their passport, see it done and return to be landed at the Port of Entry rather than risk the loss of such an important document?
I understand those involved are likely requested to do this, but does it not appear to be unwise to those invovled when asked to do it. Has the question been asked 'can I come and bring my passport in person to have this done?' If so what has been the response?
You can take your passport in person to be stamped but I'm not sure if we could have went to Buffalo in person because his case was approved by Los Angeles that's why his passport was sent to LA. I also would have to get time off of work which I wasn't able to get.
I got a tracking number but only for my self addressed envelope. I tried calling the postal service but they said the person that sent it needs to file a missing item report
