My husband received his passport request via email on January 29.
He has a visitor record that allows him to stay in Canada until June 20, 2010 and he is currently residing with me in BC. The instructions for passport submission state that if your address is in Canada, the passport should be sent to the office in Fort Erie, ON. So we sent the passport to Ontario because he is currently living in BC with me and will not be travelling back to Seattle for several weeks. But now we're doubting that we should have sent it to Buffalo because his entire application was processed in Buffalo and his residential address on his application is in Seattle (when we sent off the application he was not living with me). Can anyone tell us whether we just sent his passport to the wrong place?
And can anyone tell us what we should expect when he gets his passport back? Will he be given a specific landing date or a time frame that he needs to land within? Does he have to land the next time he crosses the port of entry or can he cross with the intention of landing at a later date?

IMO I think that the instructions would refer to where the applicant is legally residing and to the address that they have on file. I (only) surmise that if the address held by CIC is Seattle and the applicant did not inform CIC of the address change, then the office to submit the passport to will be the office connected to the application, i.e Buffalo. Perhaps contact Fort Erie and/or Buffalo and check what you should do.
Passport will contain a shiny visa and a COPR form (Confirmation of Permanent Residence). The visa stipulates the latest landing date.
Landing is normally required before the date of expiry of the medical or expiry of the passport whichever occurs first.
