passport requested...confused about expiry date

Hi everyone,

i got an email requesting my passports today wohoo..so excited.
But it also says the permanent residence visa will expire in a few months time, one year since i completed my medical!...is this meaning i must enter Canada before this expiry date, or does it just mean i need to send them my passport before this expiry date?
It doesnt give me any more information about it in the email

yes the visa will expire by that date and if you dont enter by that date you will have to do the whole process over.

You must land before that expiry date.
