I would like to share my scenario that I'm experiencing now, after receiving passport request.
I have received passport request after approving my PR. While sending passports to CIC, I noticed that one of my dependant passport is expiring in less than 6 months. And CIC specifically stated that passport should be minimum 6 months valid. In order to cover up that, I have applied for renew of passport and received with in 1 day from my country embassy.
Now my question is, should I send the new passport of my dependant along with old passport? or should I need to update new passport details some where else and then need to send them? Or is there any different approach that I need to follow?
Please advise me if any one have come across the same issue!

Hi,
My friend got passport request but the validity of his passport was less then 6 months. He attached his new passport with the old passports and wrote a letter to CIC and sent that letter to cic with passports. They stamped the Visa on the new passport.

Hello,
I would like to ask you a question, when you got your PPR, did the letter mention something regarding the passport (how long it should be valid)? I am in IP2 (waiting for PPR) but my passport will expire in 3 months and I wonder if I should renew it.
