Hi everyone,
I got an approval for Temporary Residence in Canada Visa from CIC and they have asked me to send my passport. My question is that my passport is valid till Aug 2018 and they have stated in the e-mail that my visa will expire with my passport, so I was wondering if I apply for a new passport with 5 or 10 years of validity and send both my passports to CIC
Is there a chance that I can get a longer Multiple Entry visa?
Will doing this get me in any trouble?
Please Help me out, I'm really confused

Sure there's a chance you can get a ME in your new passport. No problem in doing that. You're just doing the sensible thing.

It's difficult to say.
There have been cases where applicants were issued single-entry TRVs for even as short as one/three month(s)

so no need to ask them first about it before sending both passports? as they have record of OLD passport and they aren;t aware about the new?

Yeah, no need. You can include a short letter of explanation when you submit that you recently renewed your passport.
So you're able to get a new passport within the 30 day deadline?
