You should get an approval mail; anything short from that is refusal.
Speaking from experience

this might be true in your case but sometimes you receive both of them together. many cases like this are already posted in the forum in which the visa was granted.

You mentioned the same thing in another thread and the poster ended up getting the visa. Just because yours was refused like that doesn't mean everyone else's will be the same. Dude, please!
Hey rup27, keep calm. So many people do not get the soft copy of the approval mail. They do get it with the Visa in the VFS envelope. This happened to someone on this thread this same week. Got the visa with approval letter in the envelope. Her screenname on here is neet or neet17.. not sure.
