I wouldn’t worry, take it one day at a time. It’s hard to predict how long it will take really because you will notice some applicants get stuck for awhile in certain stages. We kept in contact for awhile before marriage and we submitted all proofs we could on this as per application protocols.

Im naturalised canadian (from mauritius)... Because they didn't believe relationship. Now the background check has been in process since 3 months, since after interview, received pre arrival in émail

It seems to me that it maybe because you are from different backgrounds but in any case I would assume if you provided proofs of wedding, contact information and family greeting cards / letters saying that they know of marriage may help?

BGC in process takes time for people with a long list of travel history, people who worked as policeman or in the Army. Also it depends of the PC if it has something even a minor crime it will definitely take longer. CIC has nothing to do in that case because the bgc is in the hands of third party. Hope it will be soon for us all

No if You cancel tour représentative. The lawyer Will Not gave access to gckey. If you are in canada or your sponsor is in canada you can call this number 18882422100 and than click 2113 I think and you find out if your Bgc is in process or not.

Only ONE account can have access to GC key. If your lawyer or representative has access then you cannot and have to communicate any updates through your lawyer or representative. If I were you I would contact your lawyer as soon as possible to inform him or her of what you did unknowingly. They should of told you this before. You should have better communication with your lawyer or representative. Before doing anything consult with the lawyer or representative if they are handling your account. In the meantime call the lawyer or representative and tell them clearly about the misunderstanding and have them fix it or direct you accordingly,
