My Parents' visitor visa expires in February 2025 because their previous passport also expires simultaneously. Now that they have a new passport, I am not sure whether to simply extend their current visitor visa or apply for a Super visa. As a lot of you know, recently IRCC changed the rules and 10-year multiple entry visa is not a norm anymore, which is why, I am a bit concerned and not sure whether to apply for a regular visitor visa or a Super Visa. Super visa obviously is a little bit more complicated as it involves a hefty insurance premium.
Any suggestions on whether to go with a Regular Visa or a Super Visa? They have a good travel history and visited Canada in 2023 and 2024. On both occasions, they stayed here for 3 months and left.
Thanks, I would really appreciate it, but can you please provide more context? Yes, they have their own funds, they will be staying with me. They came here twice in the last 2 years and returned, therefore they have a good travel history as well. They have strong ties to return and no intention of staying here beyond 3-6 months.
dont make mistake of sending them to india and applying from there my parents supervisa was about to expire i sent them back home and applied from india and its been year file still in process best thing is to apply visitor visa inside canada u will get it in 1 month once u get that send them back apply supervisa while they in homecountry and after applying fly them back this way u wont get stuck in long processing time

Like I said, my parents are already back there and cannot come in such a short time as the visa expires on Feb 2025.
Unfortunately, I am not getting a satisfactory response, Can any kind person please help? I have been using this forum since 2013, and people used to be descriptive with their explanations before but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

They can’t extend so they have to choose to apply for a normal TRV or supervisa. It is really personal preference, dependent on how long they want to visit, your profile and your parents, etc. No matter what they should be purchasing travel medical insurance.
