Hi Canocan
I sent my applucation on Dec 10th and it was returned to me on Jan 17th because according to CIC's letter, a form was missing but actually it was there in the package. I sent the package back to them on Jan 24th clarifying this but I haven't heard anything...looks like I have bee kicked out of the line up. What is now worrying me is that they I also submitted Class X certificates as Proof of Birth; I hope CIC does not return the application to me, yet again, to ask for the affidavit. Hopefully, they should not be asking for the 'missing docs' in parts!

I got the same letter asking about affidavit for my parents date of birth earlier i sent their matric certificate for date of birth and it reached mississauga on jan 3rd and feb 3rd i got my application back-wish CIC could have explain that little better in detail .But anyway file sent back with affidavit which i received from my parents and file reached mississauga on feb 20th and i am not sure if that will kick me out from the earlier lineup .But still hope everything goes good .
@Canocan based on the feedback here I would guess that they will ask for Affidavit.. :-X

Thanks for sharing,
I know they did ask me specifically affidavit with handwritten note on the letter addition to matriculation certificate. Also it depend upon agent to agent how they see the individual case .May be for you it will be ok because they might have checked all other forms and other document before retruning the application to you.

My e-cas status changed to "Decision Made" today, yesterday it was "Application Received".
The weird thing is my Dad's name appear in two rows (as sponsored person), for one row it still says "Application Received".
I thought my Mom's name appear in second row once "Decision Made".
Mine too....same thing as mentioned above.
now wait and watch

I had sent my documents on Jan 16th. Given the recent posts, I am expecting a reply by end of March. Giving myself a lot of room waiting for a reply makes me less stressful ???
hahah Sakamath i agree with you as well i sent my doc even 1 month after you so thinking end of April

Pari4u, when did you send yours? I sent mine Jan 31 and CPC-M recevied it on Feb 2.

I have send mine on the 5th and have not heard anything, I did include the recipet I payd in 2008 hope I did it right.
To me it looks like there is new procedure CIC is testing by transfering file to new delhi and ottawa -you expect some delay during start but once good link is established then you will see response more fast ---this makes me feel comfortable thinking about it but not sure of reality.

i thought that transferrig file to a local office is a standard procedure for parents applications - nothing new about it... transferring cases to Ottawa is a new procedure for parents applications but it was used before for other types of applications... so i don't really see a reason for a slow start and future improvement...

On the contrary, I believe, people who responded to the Nov2011 letter earlier had their decisions made quicker than those who responded later. I noticed that people who sent in the documents by Dec 15 have received responses within a month. Now its at least 2 months. I am afraid this lag would continue to increase up to a certain point. And mind you, this is just clearing the first hurdle. The more time-consuming process of medicals and background checks in the second part would still have to be overcome. Hope CIC would take a kind-hearted approach during this phase.

i think there is a good explanation for it - most of the applicants were not able to submit the documents in December so the number of letters with additional documents coming to Mississauga in December was low and they were able to process them fast... the numbers of letters coming to CIC every day has significantly increased in January - February as more and more people were able to collect all requested documents so it takes longer for CPC-M to process them now...
second phase is different because it is distributed between local offices and Ottawa... so it will probably take longer in local offices with high number of applications and be faster in the offices with low number of applications... and not clear if cases from Ottawa will also be transferred to local offices for the last step...
i would not expect any "kind-hearted approach" from CIC... they are just following instructions and procedures... they are not supposed to be kind...
