@Shuga - I completely agree
@Smom - Thanks for the info. I will ask my parents to check with CP office again. However, pcc@passport office can be issued in a day (as per their website) if police verification report is clear on the existing passport.

I called CIC yesterday to ask about police certs from Canada. They said it won't be needed.

Sibnadian , did u ask this for ur parents visiting canada more thn 6 mos?

also, my mom got her PCC at CHandigarh passport office on same day.

hi,

I guess, Indians cannot send passport to overseas by law. So has to go to CIC(delhi).
but again, i guess, have to wait for their request to submit passport, once they review medical and got clear on this.

Anybody who filed their case inbetween December 24 to December 31? Have you got any reply?
One of my friend sent his documents in the December last week, he has not got any response yet.

my frnd send documents on 28 dec they got approval letter yesterday file transfer to new delhi

feeling sad................ :(

CIC Missisauga received docs on Jan 10
Issued letter on Feb15 asking for missing docs.................got letter in mail on 17 feb ( i hv 30 days to respond)

They need birth and marriage certificate . Both were unavailable as in old times no one felt like registering a birth or marriage.

In hindsight, I think i shud hv sent an affidavit, but i sent my momz 10th certificate with right DOB,but tht wasnt sufficient.

As per marriage, I wud hv to send an affidavit too. Plus my father is deceased,(sent dad's death cert. too); so i guess affidavit will be sufficient.

Anyways, wanted to share my experience and hope others will be aware.

this is why i made this thread i recommend you check it --->http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/info-parents-sponsorship-process-and-documents-t95996.0.html

it would be better if your parents can get "not found certificate" ..i dont know how affidavit worked for smom but i have seen 3 cases in which affidavit or educational certificate didnt worked..

Its sad, I sent separate affidavits in leiu of marriage and birth certs. My parents sent them from back home as officially they r the one signing the forms.

I suggest you get the affidavits from back home, meaning as ur mom actually sending them. Ask them courier using bluedart/dhl, u would receive them in 4 business days. I think if u react fast u can definitely meet the timeline.
