CIC's numbers in their website are based on past 12 months processing.
What is happennig presently will be best known by following this forum.
There is no clear direction on what is going to happen in future, except the fact that CIC wants to reduce the parents sponsor backlog.

CIC updates in Canada processing every week, yet nothing is shown of new NOV 25 cases in their timeline. also, I think for the overseas offices they use to update those timelines every quarter. I don't know what's going on right now.

Correct. These timelines gives you an idea of their processing levels in the past.

Today I received a letter from CIC-M saying that they have received my complete application on January 13, 2012 and they have determined that my application is complete. My application is now in the processing queue and will be processed based on the date that the complete application was received. Letter is dated February 24, 2012

My question is, has anyone have received a letter from CIC-M that they received the application?

I think someone posted similar to this...
May be because CPC-M receiving volume is increased... it may take more time to process them.

Has CIC started sending 'request for additional documents' to march 2009 applicants?

I spoke w/ a lawyer about my husband sponsoring his mother when he arrives back in Canada. The lawyer said be prepared to wait about 10 yrs. Is this true?

I don't think so because my application was received by CIC-M on 3rd march, 2009 and
I haven't received any request for additional docs yet.

it depends... if he already applied for sponsoring his mother - then it depends on when he applied... if he has not applied yet - then he can not apply now... parents sponsorship program has been frozen since November 2011 for 2 years... the program will be redisigned so nobody knows if it is going to be reopened and what the new rules will be...

my understanding is that her status did not change... but she received a letter stating that her documents were received... it is different from my process - i did not receive any confirmation that my documents were received... i think that CIC realized that people are nervous because of the 90 days deadline - they don't know if their documents have been received or not... so CIC started sending acknowledgement letters...

agreed with Shuga

Agreed with Shuga.........looks like CIC totally confused now what to do? or what is next step?

based on so many post here....whoever file transfered in local visa office they are in trouble..... I am one of them...... :'(

Ottawa office process is faster than local office....so it may happens that people whose file transfered in Ottawa that file will be clear very soon and will get visa faster than file transfer to local visa office...
