application is being processed in Vancouver. No update for past 5 months..anybody in same situation??

Vancouver office is very slow. I saw some cases processed in this office waiting for long time.

This is fairly normal. Processing for PGP is not fast.

Does anyone know the duration for which the visa is stamped after receiving the PPR?

Usually a year from the medical.

My mother is landing this week (carrying her CoPR and a single-entry visa in her passport and other documents). Does she need to do a PRTD (50$ fee) before landing?

Specifically speaking, does she need to apply for this? Permanent resident travel document: How to apply - Canada.ca
Again this is her first time landing with CoPR to obtain her PR.

similar situation. Medical passed in July. Police clearance asked and submitted in Sept. nothing since.

No. This is her first landing as PR with her CoPR.
A PR card will be sent to her address in Canada after she complete her landing.

PTRD is only for PRs (after landing) if they have left Canada without their PR cards and need to travel back to Canada.

Same! App is in Vancouver, and medical passed in Oct/24. Waiting as well.

Did your parents have military or government experience? If yes, maybe in security screening. You can call IRCC or order IRCC notes to see what happened?

Nothing of that nature. How do I call IRCC? Could you share the number? Thank you!

So you are entering immigration with her? If so, it's possible (depending on terminal... I guess. I am not sure) but if you are flying domestic, then you won't be able to go in.

You can give your mom your phone number and IRCC/CBSA can contact you. They usually have translation service.

This is normal compared to others your application is sitting in a pile all waiting for final approval and then COPR. PGP is not a fast process and quotas have been reduced so it will slow down even more.

Yeah this is what I did. Gave her a piece of paper with my phone number and asked officers to contact me if needed. Thanks!

yesterday received my parents Medical request letter. Now I have 2 questions:
1- how do you check which visa office processing your case(I guess Montreal is our center)
2- how long these days take after medical exam until visa issue?
